Chumash I week of Nov 1- 5
This upcoming week, we will have a parasha quiz on Monday, parashat chaye sarah. these quizzes are open notes, so your son needs to prepare by writing his own notes and bringing them to class on Monday for the quiz.
Additionally, we are continuting to study "A Letter in the Scroll" a book by R. Jonathan Sacks on Jewish Identiy and Pride. There is continuous homework on this material.
JH 8 week of Nov. 1- 5
Next week, we will continue to learn new exciting topics such as:
Theodore Herzl and Zionism, the Second Aliyah, American Jews in the early 20th C.
On Friday, Nov. 5th, there will be an open notebook quiz on pages 230 - 241.
Please make sure that your children have taken notes on these pages and will be prepared
for the quiz.
JH 10 week of Nov. 1- 5
In the coming week of Nov. 1- 5, we will be doing the following:
- continuing to learn about the rise of Islam and it's significance in Jewish history
- the Jews of Babel until R.Saadiah Gaon
- the students will be given a 2 - 3 page research assignment which will be due on Mon. Nov. 15, 2010.
They will be given three periods during class time to reseach their topics on the internet and with the books in the
CTA library.

Ivrit 11/12 week of Nov. 1- 5
This coming week, we will continue to learn stories from "Aggadot yerushalayim" and learn new concepts in Hebrew grammar.
Additionally, on Friday we will have our first "Shishi Ivrit". This is a new program which all of the high school students get together once a month for a Hebrew
presentation with songs and awards for the top student of the month (for each Hebrew class).
